Each year, almost one-third of all public high school students – and nearly one-half of all Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino and Native Americans – fail to graduate from public high school with their class. Many of these students abandon school with less than two years to complete their high school education.
Drop-outs are much more likely than their peers who graduate to be unemployed, living in poverty, receiving public assistance, in prison, on death row, unhealthy, divorced, and single parents with children who drop-out from high school themselves. Additionally, our communities and nation suffer from the drop-out epidemic due to the loss of productive workers and the higher costs associated with increased incarceration, health care and social services.
BaSiC Prep Leadership Academy transforms the educational journey for students who traditional schools have not served. Through innovative online delivery, individualized planning, experienced mentoring, and unwavering commitment to equity, we enable students who have dropped out, fallen behind, or been pushed out to earn their high school diploma and transition confidently to college, careers, or meaningful work. Our success is measured not just in graduation rates, but in restored confidence, expanded opportunity, and students' genuine belief in their own potential.

Sometimes students miss needed credits because of classes they have missed or failed during their matriculation. With Basic Prep Leadership Academy, students can take only the few classes they need so that they can transfer back into the school they previously attended to complete their diploma..

Sometimes life gets in the way and finishing high school is put on the back burner. Many adults find it necessary to complete their high school diploma to qualify for jobs, while others need to qualify to attend college and better their opportunities. We work with students to help them complete the coursework necessary to complete their diplomas and move forward with their lives.

The process therefore takes account of all aspects of the applicant’s profile. Which includes their official transcript, portfolio, and course work earned, behavior, attendance and pertinent data.

BASIC PREP LEADERSHIP ACADEMY develops Individualized Service Plans (ISPs) for every student. The plan begins with a personalized academic and social-emotional roadmap, developed collaboratively with students and families. Plans are continuously reassessed and adjusted based on progress and evolving needs.
