Terrence Littlefield is an educational visionary with more than 40 years of experience promoting higher learning for students across the educational spectrum. He is currently a doctoral student in Developmental Education with a concentration in Learning Support at Texas State University, building on a long career that bridges K–12 education, higher education, athletics, and community engagement. Littlefield holds an M.A. in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Management from Southwest Texas State University and a B.A. in Special Education and Physical Education from St. Mary’s University, along with Texas teaching certification in secondary special education and physical education. 

Throughout his career, Littlefield has served as an educator, principal, college instructor, athletic coach, and mentor. He has held head and assistant men’s basketball coaching positions at Huston-Tillotson College, Voorhees College, and Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis, where he oversaw all aspects of collegiate basketball programs, from recruiting and compliance to academic support, fundraising, and community partnerships. His coaching tenure is marked by conference championships, national tournament appearances, and a notable 93 percent graduation rate among his student-athletes at Huston-Tillotson. 

In addition to his athletic leadership, Littlefield has extensive experience in academic administration and program development. As Project Coordinator at St. Philip’s College, he manages a Department of Justice grant from the Office on Violence Against Women, overseeing a substantial budget, campus-wide programming, and climate survey data to support students, faculty, and staff. He is also the founder and CEO of the Basic Prep Leadership Academy, a private online high school designed to provide at-risk and non-traditional students with a rigorous, accredited pathway to a high school diploma. His work as a college and career counselor and community engagement specialist has focused on college readiness, workforce development, and collaborative initiatives with institutions and community partners across San Antonio. 

Littlefield’s educational consulting includes leadership roles with virtual and alternative schooling models, where he has designed curriculum, managed learning management systems, and trained educators for online environments. He has taught health, physical education, recreation, and special education at both the secondary and collegiate levels, consistently centering student success, equity, and holistic development. Internationally, he has coordinated youth sports workshops at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria, developing curriculum, leading coaching clinics, and fostering community engagement around youth athletics.
